Black & White ~ 242

In 2024 my plan is to have a black & white Nikon project that I named 242. In the end of the year I will print them in a book just for myself. Mix of street portraits, nature, architecture, food, experimental shots but first I need to test shoot this camera.

I won't post pictures daily as I need to take a roll and develop so I will post a mix of digital, lomo (colour), intax, polaroid and from the 242 project.

Nikon FE2

I found a ridiculously cheap Nikon FE2 that is old but should work fine. This is from a camera store so I have to test it right away or give it back.

Many years ago I had an FE2 and the cool thing about this model is that I can take double exposures and I can use all my old Nikon lenses.

Jens Assur, Private nature October 6 - January 7, 2024

One of Sweden's foremost photographers and filmmakers, Jens Assur's work gives rise to social debate and commitment. In Private Nature, the focus is on himself and his family in the search for an answer to the great existential question: How does nature challenge us and how it, in turn, is being challenged from different quarters.

What happens to us when we live far away from nature, and when we return to it? In addition to exploring profound existential questions, the exhibition also raises burning contemporary issues about privatisation, the right to roam and exploitation in the wake of wilderness tourism.

In conjunction with the exhibition, the book Privat natur will be published by Norstedts in collaboration with Liljevalchs. Comprising some 220 images selected and taken by Jens Assur during a seven-year long project, the book also contains essays by writers who tackle the subject.

Jens Assur came to prominence in the 1990s as a reporter and photographer at the daily newspaper Expressen, and has since held a number of acclaimed exhibitions, including Under the Shifting Skies (2001), Hunger (2010) and Africa is a Great Country (2013) as well as producing several books and films. The starting point for his project is typically a current societal problem. Born in 1970 in the village of Stora Blåsjön, Jens Assur currently lives in Duved in northwest Jämtland.
In Private Nature, Jens Assur explores what happens to us when we spend time in nature and which traces we leave behind. It is about the grandiosity of nature and our own smallness, our abilities and our shortcomings.

I started looking for photo exhibitions in Stockholm and found this one with Jens that I want to see but it soons ends.

What would we be without music?

It's time to me focus on one thing only. In the last few weeks I have sold a lot of my old analog cameras but it is for a reason. I love them but I don't need them and now it's about my new project "My song".  So what's your song?

My first plan was to do a book but I think this will be a project that I will continue for a long time. For me, music is all and a song can change the worst day into the best.

Ricoh GR Digital IV (GRD 4)

So I bought a new cheap digital camera. I can't afford film all the time so I need to have both. Let's hope it's not as bad as the GX200.

Works perfectly and only has about 4000 exposures. Original battery and charger included.

The camera will arrive next week so will start a small project.

My colorfilms to the lab

Today I went to my lab "Team Framkallning" with 7 rolls of film (last film was still in the camera) all colorfilm that I took the last 2 months.

I still have 2 rolls of color film left before I go all over to black & white. So I need to capture fall colors and to play with double exposure on this rolls.

So what should I call my new Lomography project? When I started checking the meaning of LOMO all this came up on google.

LOMO - Stands for Lights Out, Missionary Only.

LOMO - Or lomo curado, is a dry-cured pork tenderloin popular in Spain.

LOMO - Stands for "Lowest Occupied Molecular Orbital".

LOMO - Stands for "Laughing off my outie-hole".

LOMO - Love of missing out.

So my ide have changed, think that I need to include lomography in the name.

4 new rolls of Lomography color film

So I didn't keep the Ricoh camera (it was a nightmare camera) so I sold it the next day after lots of testing and with the money I bought more film.

There will still be a lot of color in Sweden for a few weeks to come so these will be the last color films for a while. November - March, Stockholm is dark and gray so perfect for black and white film. Except for the time around Christmas, for that you need color.

So now I will be all analog for a while - Analogue Love ❤

I fall in love just looking at this beautiful camera and if you're looking for a sharp image, I promise you won't get one. The most stylish design and all the fun accessories that make it that special. I would have liked a similar one but with a glass lens and not all in plastic, a bit like the Lomo LC-A/ LC-A+ that take good photos.

Have only taken two rolls of film so far so don't give up just yet. All I wish is a little more sharpness.

My new Helmut Newton Poster

Fujifilm Instax SQ1 - Test pictures

Summer is soon over and my ide of taking picturs with SQ1 during this time ended after a cupel of weeks. Super easy to use and fun.
What I did not like was that you cant turn of the flash and lots of the pictures I could not even use.
I think this is more of a party camera.
