Obsessed with instant photography

I don't know why I have become obsessed with instant photography lately. Both Intax & Polaroid. This week I found cheap polaroid film online. I have 94 frames in total so might be a new small summer project.

On Polaroids website they now have the campain  "Capture real life". Real life is a pain in the ass. That’s why it’s worth it.

Digitization has made everything too convenient – from lunch, to a lift, to love itself. But only by going through physical, painful, slow and frustrating moments, can we experience the true beauty of real life.

LOMO LC-A loaded med Kodak T-Max 400

I got this camera at an auction for 10 Eur but thought it was broken. I didn't realize that I need to have batteries in for the shutter to open. This week I will test shoot and have now loaded with a T-Max 400.

Weekend Workshop: Portraiture with Knut Koivisto

Welcome to a workshop in portrait photography with one of Sweden's most respected photographers and the creator of Fotografiska's Wall of Fame - Knut Koivisto!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Welcome to a new weekend workshop with Knut Koivisto. The course takes place on Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17, starting at 10.00 a.m. During the two days we will work with light, storytelling and positioning. Lunch and coffee are included on both days as well as entrance to all exhibitions in the house.

So who is Knut Koivisto? In 1997, he opened his first studio, specializing in corporate portraits and stills for Swedish feature films and TV. This was the start of his success story and today Knut is one of Sweden's most respected portrait photographers. If you've been to Fotografiska, you can't have missed his portraits of photographers climbing Fotografiska's Wall of Fame - a permanent and ever-growing exhibition. With his humanistic worldview, he looks beyond the title of the image and straight into the heart, always focusing on the individual. His stripped-down portraits capture reality as it is, without forced poses and fake personalities.

Knut is also one of the X-Photographers - FUJIFILM's 15 ambassador photographers, who have played a central role in the development of FUJIFILM's products.

Since I don't have that kind of money I will do something similar. Book a whole weekend to take some new portraits and have some extra nice lunch. Testing some new lighting but first I will check all videos I can find on Youtube on Knut Koivisto for inspiration.

Fujifilm Instax SQ6 - 2024

For the 52 weeks challenge I have an Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 and I will use all the different settings. It have shooting mode (Auto, Selfie, Macro, Landscape, Double exposure), Brightness adjustment, Flash suppressing, Self timer Mode.

One thing that is great with this instax is that you can turn off the flash, but you will need it if you are shooting indoors.

Waiting for warmer weather

When it gets warmer outside and spring is here, then it's time for a big polaroid project.

And in the meantime, I have to catch up on my instax pictures. We had bad weather and I have been sick for the past week.

I turned 50 and scanned old negatives

Scanned old negatives and this is a photo that my brother Peter took of me on in the 90's at Kulturhuset in Stockholm with my Nikon F2. This is 30 years ago, last week I turned 50.

I feel so bad that I have one of his beautiful Hasselbland 500 C/M and his Pentax 67 on loan. Its time for a portrait project 2024.
