This ice cream was free but I've never had anything more weirder. I couldn't describe the taste of this gray ice cream that I thought was licorice. So strange ..

Weekend Workshop: Portraiture with Knut Koivisto

 

Welcome to a workshop in portrait photography with one of Sweden's most respected photographers and the creator of Fotografiska's Wall of Fame - Knut Koivisto!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Welcome to a new weekend workshop with Knut Koivisto. The course takes place on Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17, starting at 10.00 a.m. During the two days we will work with light, storytelling and positioning. Lunch and coffee are included on both days as well as entrance to all exhibitions in the house.

So who is Knut Koivisto? In 1997, he opened his first studio, specializing in corporate portraits and stills for Swedish feature films and TV. This was the start of his success story and today Knut is one of Sweden's most respected portrait photographers. If you've been to Fotografiska, you can't have missed his portraits of photographers climbing Fotografiska's Wall of Fame - a permanent and ever-growing exhibition. With his humanistic worldview, he looks beyond the title of the image and straight into the heart, always focusing on the individual. His stripped-down portraits capture reality as it is, without forced poses and fake personalities.

Knut is also one of the X-Photographers - FUJIFILM's 15 ambassador photographers, who have played a central role in the development of FUJIFILM's products.

Since I don't have that kind of money I will do something similar. Book a whole weekend to take some new portraits and have some extra nice lunch. Testing some new lighting but first I will check all videos I can find on Youtube on Knut Koivisto for inspiration.

A VISUAL DIARY

In this exhibition, Andy Warhol: Photo Factory, more than a hundred photographs from the period 1960–1987, many of which are extremely rare, offer insight into how Andy Warhol used his camera as a visual diary. He always carried his camera around, and he used it to document parties, dinners, shopping trips and wrestling matches. Friends, boyfriends and celebrities were other popular subjects. 

Fotografiska is exhibiting a mix of iconic Polaroids of famous faces, including Dolly Parton, Keith Haring, Debbie Harry and Jane Fonda, together with photo booth strips, gelatin silver prints and stitched photo collages that formed some of Andy Warhol’s final works of art. His so-called screen test films (featuring Lou Reed and Edie Sedgwick, among others) from the mid-1960s will also be on display. 

I do not want to miss this exhibition starting this week!

The museum is closed ⟶  Due to Covid-19, the photo museum will close on Monday, November 23rd and plan to open again on December 25th. My plan is to book tickets 25th of December to get away from Christmas!

Today I saw an ad for Fotografiska - Vincent Peters. Would anyone care if it wasn't celebrities he photographed? Ok, I had a bad day and I do want to see the photographs, they look classic and black and white is my favorite.

Linda McCartney & Mary McCartney | Mother Daughter

This exhibition, Mother Daughter, first shown at the Gagosian Gallery in New York, is a treasure trove of moments derived from relaxed interactions with family, a dazzling array of celebrities–Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, B.B King, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Kate Moss, Rihanna – and everyday life. Combining image elements that he photographed in a variety of international locations, Johan's images reveal poetic and often unexpected relationships that speak to the illusory and multifaceted nature of existence. Stripes on a dazzle of Grévy's zebras mesh with the fronds of geographically incongruent palms; jaguars in a tree are both defined and obscured by their spots and dappled sunlight; pigeons flock towards light like moths (or angels).

On behalf of Fotografiska, journalistic production company Civilian Act has produced the Fotografiska For Life exhibition A roof over your head – the face of the housing crisis. We get to meet people affected by this harmful development and to witness the negative repercussions for both individuals and the whole of society. The exhibition will be displayed on Fotografiska's façade, as well as in the ruins of Saint Catherine's church on the island of Gotland during Almedalen Week, a major annual political event in Sweden.

Fotografiska - Anton Corbijn 1-2-3-4 and music with Morrissey

Today I was at the photographic museum in Stockholm with my mom and looked at lot of bad shows. But luckily we got Anton's exhibition at last and that saved my day. Wow.. Anton Corbijn 1-2-3-4. I must go here again before the exhibition disappear in december, so much to look at and more than 400 photographs.

Fotografiska proudly presents photography from a lost world, where creativity and intuition were God, instead of Mammon. An era where the musicians, and the photographer Anton Corbijn, took themselves and each other to constantly new levels of expressing true passion for their art.

No music pictures for me for a while but I put a film in my beautiful Agfa "clack" camera for some nature photography at Drottningholm palace tomorrow morning.

I hope for fog at sunrise and that can be quite ok start to my day in black and white (before I get to work)
